The Paint Torch is a permanent outdoor sculpture by Claes Oldenburg.

In 2010 Oldenburg I and I met to discuss ways to elegantly incorporate technology and illumination within his proposed piece The Paint Torch.  He had been inspired by some of my art work in particular several FRP illuminated pieces I created with Kreysler and Associates in California.   We began working together almost immediately, spending over 12 months developing the sublet, yet elegant internal ‘glow’ you now see within the piece.
